People from all walks of life have chosen to spend the next stage of theirs at Luminary in Hawthorn. One such couple – Ashley and Jillian Summerfield provided a wealth of information as to what motivated them to make the move from their large family home in Glen Iris.
As is the case with so many in their position, they wanted to downsize as well as enjoy the benefits of a 'lock-and-leave' lifestyle, allowing Ashley and Jillian to spend more time sailing and playing golf than tending to the maintenance of a large residence. Additionally, Luminary's location brought them closer to the city and positioned them amidst all the things that mattered like parks, gardens and their beloved MCG.
Position played a huge part but coming from a large home, they didn't want to feel cramped, so a spacious, three-bedroom floorplan with outdoor terrace and the appeal to Jillian of a well-equipped entertainer's kitchen hardly felt like a downsize. Luminary's light-filled, open-plan interior was of particular appeal as it allowed them to mix and match furnishings from their previous home with newly acquired pieces.
Regarding the building itself, the Summerfield's see Luminary achieving landmark status given they'd seen a similar Lechte development The Element in Elsternwick do the very same. The Element's architecture, considered spaces and integrated ground floor café were of particular appeal. When an opportunity to chat with Peter and Jenny Lechte at a 'meet-the- team' night presented itself, they took full advantage. Suffice to say their conversation regarding the Luminary's café and resident's wine room helped consolidate their decision.
When asked who went 'beyond the call' throughout the purchase process, they were particularly impressed with Scott McElroy from Hocking Stuart. Given the importance of their move, Scott spent as much time as was needed in the well-represented Luminary showroom, with at times the extended Summerfield family, to ensure their decision was the right one.
In closing, the Summerfield's move was influenced by not one but many factors. Simply put, it ticked more than enough boxes for Ashley and Jillian to enjoy all the things in life that matter most to them.
